Installation of solar panels and chargers in Slovakia

TSG has installed solar panels and chargers at many different service stations, in many different countries. Within this article, we would like to give you a more detailed insight into the way TSG approaches these installations, the advantages of solar panels and find out more about two powerful chargers that was recently implemented by TSG Slovakia for OMV Slovensko – Trnava.

The increasing demand of service stations

The service stations that we serve are often located in highly busy locations close to both residential and shopping areas. This also assumes an increased number of electric car drivers in many of these countries, so the service station owners nowadays often decide to respond to the needs of electromobility.

A sustainable approach
Solar panels installation

At TSG, we highly value a sustainable attitude towards the environment. Over the past years, we have seen the advantages grow of the usage of solar panels.

Advantages of solar panels

  • Solar panels reduce dependence on traditional energy suppliers, allowing for lower electricity bills. In the case of a sufficiently powerful system, the subject can achieve full energy independence.
  • The initial installation costs will pay off over time thanks to energy savings. Solar systems have a lifespan of 25 years or more, with most having a minimum of 10–15 years of performance warranty.
  • The production of electricity from solar panels is clean and free of greenhouse gas emissions. It reduces the carbon footprint and contributes to the protection of the environment.
  • An in-house power source ensures less dependence on electricity prices and grid outages, and a possible combination with battery storage allows energy to be stored for use during the night or in bad weather conditions.
  • A roof that would otherwise remain unused can be efficiently converted into an energy source. At the same time, the panels protect the roofing materials from the weather impact.
  • Modern solar panels require minimal maintenance, usually only occasional cleaning and inspection of the system. In addition, solar panels have only a minimal decrease in performance during their lifetime (0.5–1% per year).

Choice of Solar Panels

  • Equipment

One of our customers in Slovakia decided to install 58 SolarEdge solar panels on the roof of their gas station. Each panel provides 550 Watts of power. The installation includes 30 optimizers and 1 inverter. You can see the project on the picture.

  • Overview

The operation of the solar installation can be conveniently monitored via the MySolarEdge app. The gas station operator can have an overview of the performance of the panels at any time.

  • Safety

SolarEdge is at the forefront of the market thanks to its safety features – SafeDC™ and protection against electric arcs and outages, reducing the risk of fatal accidents and fire.

  • Efficiency

In addition, SolarEdge inverters have an efficiency of approximately 99%.

From project to installation
Our key solutions

TSG will carry out the complete process, from the design through the delivery of the equipment to the installation process itself. The resulting installation on the roof of the service station of our Slovakian client has its proven solutions:

  • An economical solution for the service station owner, which, in addition to financial savings, also brings him partial energy independence in the event of a power outage;
  • A sustainable solution that has an undeniable positive impact on the environment, because solar energy is a “clean” energy that is inexhaustible, which makes solar systems sustainable in the long term.

Installation of charging stations

At the service station, the chargers are of utmost importance from the point of view of its location. Electromobility in many countries is constantly expanding and the number of electric cars is gradually increasing. So the installation of each additional charger is fundamentally important for the expansion of the charging infrastructure.

The importance of charging infrastructure

The charging infrastructure in many countries is still underestimated. Thus each new installation of a charging station is positive for EV owners.

Service stations that offer their customers an expanded fuel portfolio, belong to the new generation of service stations that adapt to market changes and to onset of a new group of drivers.

TSG carried out the installation, commissioning and testing of the chargers. Installation and commissioning are carried out by experienced TSG technicians trained by the manufacturer, of course under strict safety measures. Testing the charging station is essential in order to verify its functionality before it comes into operation.
