TSG Poland has delivered a comprehensive solar carport installation for a housing cooperative in Cedry Wielkie, a village in Gdańsk County in northern Poland. TSG’s work comprised the design, equipment supply, installation, connection and commissioning of the photovoltaic system, which has a total capacity of 194.70 kWp.
Solar carport installation: An innovative photovoltaic solution
The housing cooperative needed a cost-effective solution to provide electricity to its properties. It contacted TSG looking for a photovoltaic carport that would provide two services in one: producing electricity and protecting vehicles from the weather.
Solar carports are usually made of concrete, steel or wood. Like regular carports, they serve as shelters for vehicles, but they differ from regular carports in having photovoltaic panels on their rooftops, thereby generating energy for recharging electric vehicles (EVs) or even powering homes.
As such, their popularity is rising among housing associations for both environmental and economic reasons. By choosing a carport with photovoltaics, housing associations can not only improve the infrastructure and comfort of their residents, but also contribute to environmental protection and reduce energy costs. Furthermore, solar solutions can increase the value of the property. Subsidies and tax breaks are available in many European countries to support this type of investment

The carport in Cedry Wielkie is made of noval light design and aluminium frame, and includes EV charging spots for greater convenience. Our local Solar team delivered an extensive engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) solution, including site design, photovoltaic supply, installation and commissioning.
